1400 Hudson, the uptown residential condo development by Toll Brothers, has been under construction for the past several months. What was once an empty parking lot is on its way to being one of Hoboken’s premier residential buildings. And we now have the renderings of what the finished product will be.
First thoughts are that they look good. And that the building will fit in well next to 1450 Washington and the Hudson Tea. The finished building will feature residences from studios to 3 bedrooms, with a total of 236 units.
It will be interesting to see how many (and how large) 1400 Hudson’s 3 bedroom units are, as there is a growing trend of the urbanization of America. Which is essentially more and more people shunning the suburbs and choosing to live near convenient public transportation found in urban areas.
We hope that some enterprising businesses occupy the commercial space of the building (please, no more banks). A well-regarded retail establishment or lounge would do well here.
