Progress. What does it mean? The word is defined as “the process of improving or developing something over a period of time.” Thanks to Harrison Flats, a residential condo development in southwest Hoboken, we have the literal iteration of the term.
Things are shaping up quite nicely in uptown Hoboken in front of the new 1400 Hudson Toll Brothers Development. The area of the street in front of the building has been completely repaved and we noticed that there are a couple dedicated Zipcar parking spaces at the corner of 15th and Hudson.
The City of Hoboken recently announced a public meeting on August 31 to discuss the redevelopment of the area at 7th Street and Jackson. The plan for the area calls for 2 acres of public parks, open space, a municipal gymnasium, advanced storm water detention to aid in flood mitigation and mixed residential and retail components.
The New York Times (NYT) released a video on Hoboken today in its series known as “Block by Block.” Per the NYT’s, “Block by Block takes you into a New York City neighborhood and lets you know what it would be like to actually live there.”
Looks like the opportunities to become a ride-share driver are really heating up. Guy Adami, of CNBC’s Fast Money, swapped his stock trading abilities for a chauffeur cap and saw what it was like being a Lyft driver in Hoboken.
Del Frisco’s Grille, a popular chain of steakhouses, is coming to Hoboken in the fall of 2015. They plan to open at 221 River Street in the new Pearson building – the same building that houses Jet.com.
One of Hoboken’s best attractions is Pier 13, at 13th Street and Sinatra drive. For those who haven’t been, it hosts food trucks and a beer garden, with unobstructed views of Manhattan.
Pier 13’s upcoming private event caught our eye as it differs from their normal business practice.
